More good news from Abida Hashmi and Sayed Danial Hashmi, the Directors of
Global Village Education (Pvt.) Ltd. Based in Islamabad. Their continued efforts
have now moved GVS another step forward in the GVS Development plan. You
will be pleased to know that GVS is now affiliated with the Federal Board of
Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE).
Please see the image below of the confirmation dated 25-07-2023. FBISE is the most esteemed and prestigious educational board in Pakistan. FBISE is a federal institute and many national and almost all international schools run by embassies of Pakistan overseas are
affiliated with FBISE except for those who are following the Cambridge curriculum. The name of GVS can now be found in the affiliated schools section on FBISE website.
GVS students at the matriculation level will now be able to sit for the FBISE Board
examinations at our own school. After an inspection by FBISE, GVS will be
declared as an officially recognised Examination Centre.
This means that students from other schools in the local areas will come to our school to give
final exams for matriculation. You will no doubt also be pleased to know that the Directors will continue their efforts to establish GVS as a school of excellence within Tehsil and District
Chakwal. However, the Directors of Global Village Education (Pvt.) Ltd. will
need your support if GVS is to continue to move forward.
Benefits of FBISE affiliation
This affiliation affords GVS the following
1. To engage in better marketing of our school.
Advertising the school as affiliated with FBISE will enhance the status
of GVS and make it more attractive for families.
2. The FBISE curriculum is globally recognised as a highly desirable
standard.
3. GVS will have access to the wide-ranging network of FBISE
4. Directors of Global Village Education (Pvt.) Ltd. will be able to justify a
gradual and steady increase of board class students (Class 9 and 10
students)
5. The Directors of Global Village Education (Pvt.) Ltd. is convinced that
this affiliation with FBISE will enable them to find alternate sources of
revenue. For example by introducing Arts and Technical groups etc.
GVS next Priority
The Directors of Global Village Education (Pvt.) Ltd. has identified two
essential priorities that require funds.
1. Development of Science Laboratories: As an FBISE-affiliated school
GVS needs to further develop 3 science laboratories - Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
We have already identified some funding for the laboratories on the third floor. These funds
are available as part of a wonderful Sadaqa Jariyah initiative by
Mus’ab Al Khatib in the name of his grandmother, the late SHAMEEM
Khan-Cheema who sadly left us in June 2023. This is a fantastic foundation but attentional funding is required to fully equip the labs to the standard GVS aspires to provide.
2. Furniture in the Main Hall/ Auditorium: The Directors of Global
Village Education (Pvt.) Ltd. The Hall requires additional chairs
and related furniture for our students to be accommodated
comfortably. We are therefore seeking help and support from YOU as
our generous and most valuable donors.
3.) A third priority that the Directors of Global Village Education (Pvt.)
Ltd. feel that there is a need for action as follows:
This is not as urgent as the two above but is in need to formalise and
regularise. The ownership of the land/site on which GVS has been built
was donated by the Cheema family to Kashmir Education Foundation
(KEF) an NGO that GVS was working in partnership with at the time.
The Directors of Global Village Education (Pvt.) Ltd is in touch with
KEF Head Quarters and have made the CEO of KEF aware of this need
and will continue to take the appropriate steps towards this outcome
as and when the opportunity arises.
